A sarangay is a half-man, half-bull creature, the Philippine equivalent of the minotaur.
The banner of Sapiro features the head of a sarangay. It also appears on the round shields of Sapiryan soldiers and on the breastplate of King Armeo
In Philippine myths, a sarangay keeps a gem in its ears. It will kill anyone who attempts to steal it.
The sarangay are either exceedingly rare or extinct, since none have been shown so far.
Lira was transformed into a Sarangay by Ether.[1][2]
