Amanda is a human who, together with his wife, Dado, found the baby Lira.
Amanda is a good mother to Mila. She is principled in what is right and wrong, much unlike her erring brother Berto.
Amanda was the wife of Dado. They had been trying to have a child for 5 years.
One night, as they passed by a tree, they heard a dog barking and a baby crying. Amanda takes the baby, but they were frightened when they saw a lambana. Despite her husband's belief that the child is other-worldly, she decided to take the baby as her own.
Amanda and Dado became good parents to Mila. Amanda momentarily blamed Mila because of Dado’s death, but eventually her love for Mila won out. She would often tell Mila not to follow the (criminal) ways of Berto, Amanda’s brother.
Amanda later became sickly, which made Mila desperate for money. Amanda scolds Mila when she stole money, saying that she would rather die than see Mila become a criminal.
At one point Mila was captured by the police and imprisoned. She got angry when she learned that Berto was the reason why Mila was caught and decided to leave the house. She was persuaded by Mila not to leave, since Berto threatened to sell the house if they leave him.
One day, while walking with Mila, Amanda saw a riding-in-tandem about to shoot Mila and blocks them with her body. She receives a fatal shot and dies shortly after telling Mila, again, not to follow Berto’s footsteps.
